Vitamin C and yellow pee?

This is a random question... I know that when you take vitamin c suppliments and your body doesn't need all of the vitamin it is discarded in your urine. Why is it bright yellow? I have never taken a multivitamin or vitamin c without having bright yellow pee. Does this mean that I have enough vitamin c in my diet? It seems strange that this should be so, because although I usually eat lots of fruits and vegtables I sometimes do not, and regardless of the amount of vitamin c in my diet I always have bright yellow pee if I take a multivitamin.

Too much vitamin C is also not a good thing. Should I try to find a multivitamin without vitamin c in it, since my body abvious thinks I don't need and more vitamin c than it already has.

Vitamin C and yellow pee?
you're fine... the color varies for some.. from a dark to a bright yellow to sometimes a neon lime color.

eat a better diet too.. that's always a good thing.

fresh resources for vitamins and minerals is much better.. it's living material, much easier to absorb in the body and has lasting effects...

but taking mulitvitamins isn't a bad thing in addition.. make sure though you check around and try different types and brands..sometimes vitamins can cause discomfort... aren't absorbed as well as others... can cause constipation.. heart burn.. things like that.. not all vitamins and brands are created equal.

:D
Reply:Vitamin C is not stored in the body and has to be replenished often. Your pee not elimination, that's poo. So it doesn't matter what color your pee is, because it was made that color AFTER your body used up the benefits of your multivitamin. Even if your are vitamin C deficient, you would have that yellow pee after taking a multivitamin, because again, pee is not made by your body eliminating anything. Hope that helps!
Reply:The color of yellow is just the basic chemistry of your body trying to use or get rid of the extra vitamin C. If you are eating enough fruits and vegetables calculate how much you eat daily and that should tell you if you are getting enough C. I normally take C just to make sure I have enough in my system and since it is water soluble you don't have to worry about taking too much - unless you swallow a couple of hundred bottles of C.

Great question
Reply:yellow pee comes from the B vitamins. I think B2.
Reply:Your body concentrates your urine when it eliminates any substance from it. Vitamins do eliminate from your body just as anything else.Vitamin c is best at 500-1000mg.depending on your size to be absorbed properly.Every pill has a by product that may be in our urine and show up bright yellow. If your urine stays bright yellow throughout the day and does not turn clear then you are not drinking enough fliuds to eliminate the excess or you could have something else going on which needs medical attention. Don't worry about taking Vit-C as long as you see the bright yellow pee gradually disappear into clear.
Reply:Your Vitamin C levels are fine. Your water intake is not. Your urine should be a light yellow to almost clear, if not you need to drink more water.
