My A/C stopped working a week ago. The refrigerant level had dropped, so I personally recharged it to the proper level, yet no cool air comes out. The compressor turns on correctly, the belt seems ok, and the level of refrigerant does not drop, so I assume that there is no leak. What can the problem be?
Also, months ago, I would notice that if I left my A/C on for a while, I would get some cold vapor from the vents. The Haynes manual states that this is a symptom of a leaking Heater core. Would a faulty heater core cause the A/C not too cool down?
Thanks in advance.
Honda Civic A/C blows hot air, no leak, refridgerant level ok, compressor working?
no way how much freon you put in if you overcharged it will blow warm to and how much was in system before you started ever car has sticker to tell how much to fill system from empty was system ever opened will need to evacuatealso need a lic. to screw with nothing for the backyard mechanic
Reply:your blend air door isn't stuck in the hot position, is it? also, with the a/c running, are the low side lines cold? what are your high and low side pressures?
A faulty linear pressostat, but then i would expect the compressor clutch to cut out after being turned on.
Or if the engine cooling fan is not running at low speed when A/C is on. Possibly due to a frozen fan motor or a faulty low speed fan relay.
thank you cards
